EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEACHER INSERVICE. We want to thank local law enforcement, dispatch, Fremont EMS, and other emergency service personnel for helping us with our inservice at North Fremont High School today. All school staff from Ashton Elementary and North Fremont experienced active shooter drills, hostage situations, fire emergencies, and emergency medical support training. This was excellent practice and helped our schools better understand how to respond in emergencies. Your local schools will be conducting drills throughout the year to practice what we learned today. We will be repeating this training on January 19 at Henry's Fork Elementary (for HFE, PE, and TE) and on February 9 at South Fremont High School (for SFJ and SFH). If you would like to learn more or even see what is happening, contact your school for details.

The North Fremont Honor Society would like to thank all the local businesses and community members who helped out in our Silent Auction earlier this month. Your donations have helped members of our North Fremont Junior High and High School community to have a good Christmas this year. Thank you so much for making Ashton a great place to live!

The Ashton Youth Pickleball Club had a gallant season. For two months these Huskies played against much bigger and more experienced teams from Rexburg, Rigby and Idaho Falls. But the players had amazing courage and their improvement over the course of the season was remarkable. They played their last match on Thursday against Madison High School. They won two out of their five games. The winning players were Molly Hatton and Logan Garrett in doubles, and Molly Hatton, Logan Garrett, Max Harshbarger, Millie Harshbarger in a singles Dreambreaker game.
The club wishes to thank our community sponsors, Stronks & Sons Hardware Store, Harshbarger Farms, and 3 Rivers Screenprinting & Embroidery. If your child would like to play pickleball this winter, starting December 6th the community center will host a monthly Open Youth Pickleball Day on the first Wednesday of the month from 4pm-6pm. Ages 8 – 18.

We had a great Veteran's Day assembly last Thursday. The choir and band both performed patriotic songs, and the student council put together an awesome presentation highlighting many of our friends and family who have served, or who are still serving in the military. We are extremely grateful for Todd Lanning sharing his experience as a Marine! Thank you to all of our veterans!

We had a great showing last Thursday night for our senior project presentations. Great job to all of the seniors, and thank you for all your support! Also, a huge shoutout to Mr. Channell, he puts in a lot of extra time working with students and preparing for this event.

We had a great college application week at NF! Every senior completed "Apply Idaho" and submitted at least one application to a higher education institution in Idaho. They also applied for the Idaho Launch Grant (an awesome new program that funds training for high need jobs) and the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship. They finished the week with a pizza party and raffle drawing for some really cool prizes! Also, a huge thank you to Mrs. Litton who organized the activities and guided our students through the application process.

Last night our NFHS Husky football team had a huge win over Ririe 52-12! In the process they secured the 2A district 6 championship! Great job to all of the players and coaches, and thank you for representing our school and community in such a great way! Good luck at state!
